My clients are busy men and women who have tried many diets, but haven’t experienced long-term, sustainable weight loss. They are people who believe in eating whole foods and are open to making changes in their lives so that they may live with more joy and freedom.

For over 10 years, I have supported people who have an understanding of what foods are good for them, but they don’t apply this knowledge on a regular basis. Sadly, they feel shameful for knowing what to eat to be healthy, but not able to consistently apply their knowledge. My clients don’t lack willpower, they lack an ability to handle their intense lives and uncomfortable emotions. Most people eat processed foods to numb their feelings (whether they consciously realize this or not). Emotional eating is a symptom, it’s not the root cause. Holistic nutrition therapy offers you the emotional support you need to discover and heal the reasons you reach for low-quality food. I believe that whole foods from nature are medicine for the body and that there is no perfect way of eating. Learn more, read testimonials and book a free, 60-minute nutrition consultation online at maggiechristopher.com. I look forward to meeting you!

Keyena
608-258-2525
Primary care family practice providing comprehensive clinical and laboratory assessments and treatments for optimized whole body/whole mind/whole spirit union. Profoundly effective therapies for those seeking and preparing for a higher, more resonant level of wellness on all levels.

Dr. McKenzie’s interest in naturopathic medicine, midwifery and spirit medicine was kindled while working as a horse pack wilderness ranger in the southern Rocky Mountains of New Mexico more than 30 years ago. It was in those sacred mountains that she was introduced to her first medicinal plant, osha root (Ligusticum porteri), a plant that grows above 7500’ elevation and is used for it’s potent anti-viral properties. From that meeting forward, while working as a ranger, she always carried a nub of osha root in her horse’s saddlebags when she was on trail for extended periods of time. It was from there that she stepped onto the path of inquiry into the transformative healing power of nature, botanical medicine, therapeutic nutrition, homeopathy, midwifery, cupping and other manual therapies.

Keyena received her doctoral degree in naturopathic medicine, certification in naturopathic midwifery and completed an extended course of homeopathic studies with renowned practitioners from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon in 1998 and is currently registered with the state of MN as a Naturopathic Doctor (ND); licensed by the state of Oregon as a Naturopathic Doctor (ND), the state of Wisconsin as a Licensed Midwife (LM) and the North American Registry of Midwives as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). She is a professional member of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS).

She completed the lactation educator training program through the Evergreen Family Medical Center in Washington state and is a certified HART Method/Maya abdominal therapy practitioner and incorporates cupping, gua sha and moxibustion therapies into her treatments as indicated. She has completed extended studies in the specialties of naturopathic oncology, bioregulatory medicine and the treatment of Lyme, tick-borne diseases and co-infections.

Her approach to healing uncovers imbalance layer-by-layer to effectively identify and remove the underlying causes of dis-ease wherever possible. She does not compartmentalize nor treat imbalance in isolation. Optimal healing requires attention to the entire being. She sees healing as a joint venture and especially enjoys working with those who are not only ready for change but also prepared to do the work needed for improved well-being.

Saumya Ayurveda
201 E Hennepin Avenue (East Hennepin and Second St NE, above Ginger Hop Restaurant) Come for Ayurveda and stay for a great meal or shopping!
55414
When people come to Saumya Ayurveda, the two most common questions they ask are: “What is Ayurveda?” and “How can Ayurveda help me?”

“Ayurveda” is the ancient science of harmonious living and longevity. It is a practical, common-sense way to bring health and vitality to the body and a state of balance and wellbeing to the mind. These changes come through the use of nutritious foods, herbs, oils and changes in one’s lifestyle. The 5,000-year-old holistic, indigenous medical system of Ayurveda treats the whole person by focusing on healing at the root cause of disease or imbalances.

But what about the continuing day-to-day discomforts that we all experience – painful symptoms for which there seems to be no relief and no answer? – or some remedy works for a while and then stops working? We go to several doctors, but to no avail. Sound familiar?

From an Ayurvedic perspective, these symptoms are likely related to one root cause, which is an imbalance in one or more of the three doshas, or bodily humors – Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

How can Ayurveda help me? From Acne to Zoster and everything in between, Ayurveda provides a support. Common imbalances include: anxiety, constipation, digestion, depression, fatigue, GERD, hair loss, high cholesterol, hyper/hypo blood pressure, joint pain, fertility, inflammation, insomnia, IBS, menopausal transition, PMS, sleep, stress, thyroid and adrenal, and more.

If you’d like to feel better, if you want to learn how you can take charge of your health and well-being, contact Veena at Saumya Ayurveda. She will look at you as a whole person, an entire multifaceted personality consisting of mind, body and spirit – not as a set of symptoms. Through careful listening, your concerns, and goals will be understood and addressed at the source, and then you will be provided with tools to bring health and vitality into your life.

To your health and peace,
Veena Haasl-Blilie, MA, CAP, CAE, Certified Yoga Meditation Teacher

“My intention is to support you in moving forward at your comfortable pace, to integrate your Saumya Ayurveda plan into your daily life.” – Veena

Testimonial
“As a physician, I have always believed ‘Prevention is better than cure.’ In an era of spiraling health care costs, it was an eye-opener to learn, during meditation, that all the diseases start in the mind. I am very hopeful, that by using the body as a tool to train the mind that I can influence my health and destiny. Ayurveda is the logical and natural solution. I started working with Veena at a time when I was at the end of my tether, juggling my professional and personal aspirations. She responded to my desperate call and went out of her way to find ways to work things into with my busy schedule.

For the initial treatment, to pull me back from the brink, I was treated with Veena’s oils, teas and herbs. I took to all these products like a fish to the water. I could feel myself turn the corner and all my symptoms of fatigue, sleeplessness, joint aches and incessant worry of gaining weight improved immediately. I lost weight without even lifting my little finger.

I was encouraged to pursue a steady approach to create lasting changes. Now when I see my patients, I see so many suffering from similar symptoms related to diet and stress. I see so much need for our whole society to incorporate Ayurveda in their lives. I have routed several of my patients to Saumya-Ayurveda. It is a blessing to have such a rich resource.

I am eternally grateful to Veena at Saumya Ayurveda for anchoring me to my present state of health and peacefulness and for helping me to embark on a path towards the balance we all are striving for. Thank you so much.” — Gauri Nagargoje, M.D.

Is this you:
You’ve tried fad diets and strict eating plans? They don’t work.
You’re plagued by nagging food cravings? Every day. They consume you.
You’re drained from toxic relationships?
You’re overwhelmed by stress at work or at home?
You’re ready to feel better about your body, and become inspired to accomplish your goals in a way that’s empowering and exciting?

Hello! I’m Marnie Dachis Marmet. As a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach in Minneapolis, I help you feel your best, every day. I teach women and teens how to effectively prioritize health and happiness. Together, we’ll create incremental changes in your life that add up to real, sustainable wellness.

Throughout my education as a Health Coach and yoga teacher, I studied cutting-edge dietary theories and highly effective coaching techniques. I incorporate these elements of health coaching and yoga that are right for you, and together we create your individualized wellness plan.

As a mom of a teenager (and two tweens), I understand how crucial it is for you and your teen to find the right style of coaching for you. I create a confidential, supportive environment so you can articulate and explore your goals in a way that suits your personality. Teens can be shy and self-conscious, so if it’s more comfortable for you, we can focus on phone and email communication. Women need heartfelt empathy – and I listen without judgment. I am naturally nurturing and I place a high emphasis on warmth, authenticity, and trust.

My approach will help you make lasting changes that don’t just slip away the minute you have a stressful day or a junk food binge. It’s not about being 100% perfect. It’s about empowering yourself with tailored knowledge to promote personal growth. What I want for you is meaningful improvement – not just another short-lived resolution or destined-to-fail “health” fad.

We can work in-person in Minneapolis, Minnesota, or remotely by phone or Skype.
As we sift through your personal wellness jigsaw and you see the pieces fall into place, you may find that the impact of these collective changes is way more significant than you expected.

I offer health coaching in Minneapolis, Minnesota, or remotely by phone or Skype.

To make a change, all you need is the willingness to act.

Are you ready to feel better about your body, set and achieve your goals and get excited about your future life?
