My special areas of expertise include the functional nutrition management and support of patients with cancer, mood disorders, food intolerances, metabolic syndrome, autoimmune disease, menopausal symptoms, and adrenal fatigue. I also have an integrative cancer care and prevention practice that is focused on the primary and secondary cancer risk reduction and the management and support of patients in the midst of cancer treatment. Interventions are based on improving the oncometabolic promoters of cancer: insulin resistance, inflammation, impaired methylation, oxidative stress, copper excess, and unfavorable estrogen metabolism.

She is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and received her post doctorate education and training in Functional Medicine and Clinical Nutrition through the Institute for Functional Medicine and the Functional Medicine University. Dr. Batool Dawood is the founder and CEO at Enaya LLC, located in Blaine MN. Dr. Dawood believes that we all deserve a life of health and vitality. Disease and dysfunction often follows when our body is not given what it needs to be able to function optimally. She is passionate about identifying and addressing the root causes of diseases. Her treatment approach is “patient-centric” and she creates customized treatment plans that are unique to each patient. At her clinic, she uses latest laboratory and diagnostic techniques, along with a patient’s comprehensive medical, family, social, and occupational history to find the root cause of an illness. She then develops a customized treatment plan, using a combination of herbals and/or supplements, specific therapeutic diets, detoxification programs, spiritual/emotional counseling, and other self-care/wellness practices to treat the patient and bring patient’s body back to an optimal state. In addition, educating patients about their conditions empowers them to take charge of their own health, ultimately leading to greater success in treatment.

Primary care family practice providing comprehensive clinical and laboratory assessments and treatments for optimized whole body/whole mind/whole spirit union. Profoundly effective therapies for those seeking and preparing for a higher, more resonant level of wellness on all levels.

Dr. McKenzie’s interest in naturopathic medicine, midwifery and spirit medicine was kindled while working as a horse pack wilderness ranger in the southern Rocky Mountains of New Mexico more than 30 years ago. It was in those sacred mountains that she was introduced to her first medicinal plant, osha root (Ligusticum porteri), a plant that grows above 7500’ elevation and is used for it’s potent anti-viral properties. From that meeting forward, while working as a ranger, she always carried a nub of osha root in her horse’s saddlebags when she was on trail for extended periods of time. It was from there that she stepped onto the path of inquiry into the transformative healing power of nature, botanical medicine, therapeutic nutrition, homeopathy, midwifery, cupping and other manual therapies.

Keyena received her doctoral degree in naturopathic medicine, certification in naturopathic midwifery and completed an extended course of homeopathic studies with renowned practitioners from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon in 1998 and is currently registered with the state of MN as a Naturopathic Doctor (ND); licensed by the state of Oregon as a Naturopathic Doctor (ND), the state of Wisconsin as a Licensed Midwife (LM) and the North American Registry of Midwives as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). She is a professional member of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS).

She completed the lactation educator training program through the Evergreen Family Medical Center in Washington state and is a certified HART Method/Maya abdominal therapy practitioner and incorporates cupping, gua sha and moxibustion therapies into her treatments as indicated. She has completed extended studies in the specialties of naturopathic oncology, bioregulatory medicine and the treatment of Lyme, tick-borne diseases and co-infections.
