Dr. Montgomery is a MN Board Registered Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist, and currently sees patients at Wellness Minneapolis Clinic and YMCA Maplewood Community Center.

Dr. Crystalin Montgomery earned a Doctorate of Naturopathic medicine and a Masters of Acupuncture from the National College of Natural Medicine, the oldest accredited Naturopathic school in the nation. She is a Registered Naturopathic Doctor in the State of Minnesota.  She has a Diplomate of Acupuncture from the NCCAOM, and is licensed in acupuncture in the State of Minnesota.  She is also a certified Holistic Pelvic Care practitioner.

While undergoing a rigorous academic program of concurrent studies in Naturopathic and Classical Chinese Medicine, Dr. Montgomery completed clinical training that included a three-year mentorship in women’s health. During her Chinese Medicine training, she continued to see a high volume of patients with a range of chronic conditions, including cancer, MS, Parkinson’s, and other autoimmune conditions.  Additionally, Dr. Montgomery completed training in Holistic Pelvic Care, a therapy developed and taught by Tami Kent, PT, to address chronic pelvic issues.

Dr. Montgomery came to Naturopathic and Classical Chinese medicine via her experience as a collegiate athlete and coach. Her personal experience with sports-related injuries led her to explore various approaches to optimize her body’s recovery.  She became interested in learning how to utilize nutrition, movement and other forms of natural healing to keep the body in top shape and prevent injuries.

Prior to becoming a Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist, Dr. Montgomery spent the six years as a collegiate and youth soccer coach.  During that time she found her passion in teaching young people about a balanced approach to playing and life through a more profound understanding of fitness and nutrition.

The doctors at Be Well Natural Medicine Clinic are clinically-trained experts in the field of natural and holistichealth care.  They are board-certified Naturopathic Doctors (NDs), registered through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice to provide naturopathic medical care that combines the most cutting-edge medical science with time-tested natural therapies.  At Be Well Natural Medicine Clinic, we love our work and use the principles of Naturopathic medicine as our guides: prevent disease, identify and remove the cause of disease, treat the whole person, trust in the healing powers of nature, and educate patients about wellness.  The first thing you will notice about your experience as a patient at Be Well Natural Medicine is that you have the time to adequately and comfortably discuss your health concerns.  You will also notice that your doctor is concerned about all aspects of your health, not just one part of your body.  By assessing and treating the whole person, the doctor is able to uncover key underlying causes of your health concerns instead of merely treating symptoms.  After a thorough holistic assessment of your health, your doctor will develops a Wellness Plan tailored to you.  Your Wellness Plan will include a nutritional program, as well as safe and effective natural medicines, such as herbs, nutrients, or homeopathic medicines.  In any significant healing process there comes a point where you must choose to either change how you live and heal, or stay the same. When you awaken to what your body and mind needs to heal, it changes your life.

Graduate of the National College of Natural Medicine with doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. BS in Molecular Biology from UW-Madison. Through and beyond naturopathic medical school I have spent a lot of time studying classical homeopathy, biotherapeutic drainage, structural adjustments, nutritional and herbal medicine, lab testing, hakomi and mind/body therapy techniques, trying to find my place in health care. Ultimately I want to change how we see patients as providers and how the system as a whole addresses chronic care. My particular interest is in the science of the underlying mechanisms of stress, mood and digestive disorders and how understanding this and incorporating nutritional and herbal medicine can create an evidence based and holistic approach to chronic illness.
